Message from the Mayor

The City Council and I have had a busy summer preparing for the budget process to begin in August.  The City Council held its annual budget retreat in early July to learn more about current economic conditions and their impact on our financial objectives.  During the retreat, Council and City management discussed priorities and options for balancing the budget.  The City Manager will present his proposed budget to the Council at the City Council meeting on August 2. Mayor Jones, Charles Haley and Homer Johnson Headline Boys & Girls Club Banquet

On September 8, the Garland Salvation Army will host its annual baquet benefit for the Boys & Girls Club, at their facility at 435 S. Fifth Street in Garland.  This year's banquet will feature a VIP Reception at 5:30, prior to the 7:00 dinner, where sponsors of the event will have the opportunity to meet Mayor Ronald Jones, former Dallas Cowboy Charles Haley, the keynote speaker, and Garland sports legend Homer B. Johnson, who will be honored at the event.

Mayor's Good Neighbor Award

Each quarter Garland Mayor Ronald Jones will accept nominations for the Mayor's Good Neighbor Award.  Completed  Good Neighbor Award Nomination Packets  should be returned to the Mayor's Office on the 4th Floor of City Hall.  Mail to Mayor Ronald E. 2011 Mayor's State of the City Address 

Each year the Mayor updates the community with the annual State of the City Address. This year, Mayor Jones will present his address to citizens and the business community at the Garland Chamber of Commerce luncheon on February 28, 2011 at 11:30am.  Read More
